Swasthvritta & Yoga
Swasthvaritta & Yoga

Introduction:
Swasthavritta and Yoga is the branch of Ayurveda that emphasizes preventive, promotive, and lifestyle-oriented healthcare. The term Swasthavritta means “the code of conduct for maintaining health.” It deals with personal hygiene (Dinacharya – daily regimen, Ritucharya – seasonal regimen), social hygiene, dietetics, epidemiology, and public health measures described in Ayurveda.
Yoga is an integral component of this department, focusing on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through practices such as Asana, Pranayama, Dhyana (meditation), and lifestyle modifications.
