Introduction:

Rognidan evam Vikriti Vigyana is the branch of Ayurveda that deals with the diagnosis of diseases and the study of pathological processes. It is equivalent to Pathology & Diagnostic Methods in modern medicine.

  • Rognidan (Diagnostics): Focuses on the principles of examination, methods of clinical diagnosis, and understanding the causes and symptoms of diseases through Trividha Pariksha, Dashavidha Pariksha, Ashtasthana Pariksha, and other Ayurvedic diagnostic tools.

  • Vikriti Vigyana (Pathology): Deals with the study of disease progression, Dosha-Dushya Sammurchhana, Kriyakala, and the alterations in Dosha, Dhatu, Mala that lead to pathological states.

This subject bridges Ayurvedic and modern diagnostic methods, enabling students to identify diseases, understand their pathology, and apply appropriate therapeutic measures.

  • Clinical Laboratory – Equipped for hematological, biochemical, and pathological investigations to provide practical training to students.

  • Department Library – Stocked with classical Ayurvedic texts, commentaries, and modern pathology/diagnostic books.

  • Museum/Models – Displays charts, models, and specimens explaining disease processes, diagnostic methods, and pathological changes.

  • Demonstration Room – With audio-visual facilities for lectures, case discussions, and seminars.

  • Faculty Cabins – Well-furnished and ventilated cabins for teaching staff.
