Rasshastra & Bhaishyajyakalpana

Introduction:
Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana is the branch of Ayurveda that deals with the preparation, processing, and standardization of medicines.
-
Rasashastra focuses on the use of metals, minerals, and herbo-mineral formulations after proper purification (Shodhana), incineration (Marana), and processing to make them safe and therapeutically effective.
-
Bhaishajya Kalpana emphasizes the principles and methods of preparing herbal formulations such as Swarasa (juices), Kalka (paste), Kwatha (decoctions), Churna (powders), Avaleha (confections), Ghrita (medicated ghee), Taila (medicated oil), Asava-Arishta (fermented preparations), and many more.
